My niece blew me a kiss via Skype tonight...
...said, "I love you, Aunt Pam" and then asked for a hug (putting her arms out towards the computer screen).
I just about hopped into my car and drove to Austin to give her a real hug.

Regarding types of greetings/goodbyes: If there's anything better than blowing kisses, I'm not sure what that might be.
