I tried to say something mildly affectionate to my husband...
...while we were baking in the kitchen. His response? To laugh and say, "That's like something the stalker would say in a movie, you know, before she kills his dog."

Honestly, Ashley, I don't even remember! I think I just ended something with a very sappy, "...our love." I think that's what tipped him off! :)
